Masseria Petrarolo

Set in a 100-acre estate in the heart of Puglia’s olive groves, yet only a few miles from the sparkling waters of the Adriatic Sea, Masseria Petrarolo is a former 17th century fortified farmhouse, originally built to offer protection from Barbary raiding parties.

After a four year restoration project by London and New York based Alexander Waterworth Interiors(Annabel’s, Soho House Miami), the Masseria is now a beautiful blend of rusticity and luxury with immaculate attention to detail.

Sleeping up to 16, the Masseria has eight en-suite bedrooms (one with an outdoor bathtub), three kitchens, a hammam, drawing room and dining room. Outdoor highlights include a rooftop pool, swimming pool overlooking the olive and almond groves, restored Airstream caravan for those wanting a little more privacy, small chapel and a herb garden producing endless fresh produce year round.

Nearly 100 acres of olive groves, oak and wild grass meadows surround the house, there are countless opportunities for walks and cycle rides to explore the area. The property is just a short drive from the bustling town of Monopoli, full of history, sandy coves, superb selection of trattorias and the best fish market in the area.

This glorious country retreat comes with staff, including the option of an experienced local chef, whose menus are dictated by each individual guest, seasonal produce straight from the land… and the catch of the day!
