Aurora Expeditions

Pioneering and Adventurous

Aurora Expeditions offer cruises to the Arctic and Antarctic, as well as adventurous treks to Patagonia, Everest, Bhutan and Ecuador, reaching some of the most remote areas of the world. With polar expeditions at its core, Aurora Expeditions has provided expert-led trips to Antarctica for over 20 years. With small ships accommodating a maximum of 54 passengers, trips are intimate and personalised and every trip is led by an expert guide, be it a naturalist or a biologist, with fascinating lectures on a variety of topics held on board. Aurora Expeditions was the first cruise company to offer diving and camping in Antarctica, alongside other activities such as kayaking, sledging and trekking… and is the very first company to offer the ground-breaking new polar snorkelling experience.

October 2019 saw the launch of Aurora Expeditions’ new state-of-the-art ship Greg Mortimer, which is the world’s first expedition ship to use the patented ULSTEIN X-BOW technology. Providing much more stability than a traditional bow, it means that the 104m ship can pierce through the waves of the notorious Drake Passage with unprecedented comfort and ease, while also reducing fuel consumption and air emission. The ship boasts comfort with practicality, with facilities including a 360-degree open viewing deck, an indoor passenger lounge with panoramic windows offering unobstructed 180-degree views, and unique hydraulic side viewing platforms. All the cabins are sea-facing, feature ensuite bathrooms and 80% of cabins offer private balconies from which to observe the breath-taking Polar landscapes.

Aurora Expeditions launched a number of exciting new itineraries for the inaugural season on Greg Mortimer, travelling to all-new destinations including Latin America, Caribbean Coast, Iceland, Greenland and East Coast Canada. Along with the introduction of new trekking destinations to Scandinavia and Patagonia.
